CEED — frequently asked questions
When is CEED 2027?
CEED 2027 is on 17 January 2027 (forenoon), conducted by IIT Bombay. Check ceed.iitb.ac.in for registration dates and eligibility details.
Who can apply for CEED?
Graduates and final-year students with a degree, diploma or postgraduate qualification as specified in the CEED brochure. You don't need a design degree; engineers, architects and fine arts graduates regularly move into design through CEED.
What is the CEED exam pattern?
Part A is a computer-based objective test. Part B is answered on paper and tests drawing, creativity, communication and problem identification. Part B is evaluated only for candidates who clear the Part A cut-off.
What happens after the CEED result?
Each institute runs its own shortlisting for M.Des, which can include a portfolio review, a studio test and an interview, so build your portfolio alongside exam preparation.
Where can I take a CEED mock test?
The Design Habitat's online CEED mock tests at thedesignhabitat.com/mock-tests follow the official pattern: a one-hour Part A with real marking and a two-hour Part B that mentors mark. Mock 1 is free.
